Ballade Of Modest Confession Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABBCBC CBCBBCBC CBCBBCBC DBCBC

My reading is extremely deep and wideA
And as our modern education goesB
Unique I think and skilfully appliedA
To Art and Industry and Autres ChosesB
Through many years of scholarly reposeB
But there is one thing where I disappointC
My numerous admirers and my foesB
Painting on Vellum is my weakest pointC
-
I ride superbly When I say I 'ride'C
The word's too feeble I am one of thoseB
That dominate a horse It is my prideC
To tame the fiercest with tremendous blowsB
Of heel and knee The while my handling showsB
Such lightness as a lady's But ArointC
Thee Human frailty with thy secret woesB
Painting on Vellum is my weakest pointC
-
Painting on Vellum not on silk or hideC
Or ordinary Canvas I supposeB
No painter of the present day has triedC
So many mediums with success or knowsB
As well as I do how the subject growsB
Beneath the hands of genius that anointC
With balm But I have something to discloseB
Painting on Vellum is my weakest pointC
-
-
EnvoiD
Prince do not let your Nose your royal NoseB
Your large imperial Nose get out of JointC
For though you cannot touch my golden ProseB
Painting on Vellum is my weakest pointC
