Stages Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACBCDEDFGH HGIGIGJGGJ

As every flower fades and as all youthA
Departs so life at every stageB
So every virtue so our grasp of truthA
Blooms in its day and may not last foreverC
Since life may summon us at every ageB
Be ready heart for parting new endeavorC
Be ready bravely and without remorseD
To find new light that old ties cannot giveE
In all beginnings dwells a magic forceD
For guarding us and helping us to liveF
Serenely let us move to distant placesG
And let no sentiments of home detain usH
-
The Cosmic Spirit seeks not to restrain usH
But lifts us stage by stage to wider spacesG
If we accept a home of our own makingI
Familiar habit makes for indolenceG
We must prepare for parting and leave takingI
Or else remain the slave of permanenceG
Even the hour of our death may sendJ
Us speeding on to fresh and newer spacesG
And life may summon us to newer racesG
So be it heart bid farewell without endJ
