The Apparition: A Retrospect Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAAB CADDA AEFFE

Convulsions came and where the fieldA
Long slept in pastoral greenB
A goblin mountain was upheavedA
Sure the scared sense was all deceivedA
Marl glen and slag ravineB
-
The unreserve of Ill was thereC
The clinkers in her last retreatA
But ere the eye could take it inD
Or mind could comprehension winD
It sunk and at our feetA
-
So then Solidity's a crustA
The core of fire belowE
All may go well for many a yearF
But who can think without a fearF
Of horrors that happen soE
