Shiloh - A Requiem Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDDEEBFGHHIHIBJB

Skimming lightly wheeling stillA
The swallows fly lowB
Over the field in clouded daysC
The forest field of ShilohB
Over the field where April rainD
Solaced the parched one stretched in painD
Through the pause of nightE
That followed the Sunday fightE
Around the church of ShilohB
The church so lone the log built oneF
That echoed to many a parting groanG
And natural prayerH
Of dying foemen mingled thereH
Foemen at morn but friends at eveI
Fame or country least their careH
What like a bullet can undeceiveI
But now they lie lowB
While over them the swallows skimJ
And all is hushed at ShilohB
