Marlena Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCACCCDAEAEAAAFCCAG GCC

Far off in the sea is MarlenaA
A land of shades and streamsB
A land of many delightsC
Dark and bold thy shores MarlenaA
But green and timorous thy soft knollsC
Crouching behind the woodlandsC
All shady thy hills all gleaming thy springsC
Like eyes in the earth looking at youD
How charming thy haunts MarlenaA
Oh the waters that flow through OnimooE
Oh the leaves that rustle through PonooA
Oh the roses that blossom in TarmaE
Come and see the valley of VinaA
How sweet how sweet the Isles from HinaA
'Tis aye afternoon of the full full moonA
And ever the season of fruitF
And ever the hour of flowersC
And never the time of rains and galesC
All in and about MarlenaA
Soft sigh the boughs in the stilly airG
Soft lap the beach the billows thereG
And in the woods or by the streamsC
You needs must nod in the Land of DreamsC
