From The Conflict Of Convictions Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFGF HIJKKILMLNO MMMPPI

The Ancient of Days forever is youngA
Forever the scheme of Nature thrivesB
I know a wind in purpose strongC
It spins against the way it drivesB
What if the gulfs their slimed foundationsD
bareE
So deep must the stones be hurledF
Whereon the throes of ages rearG
The final empire and the happier worldF
-
Power unanointed may comeH
Dominion unsought by the freeI
And the Iron DomeJ
Stronger for stress and strainK
Fling her huge shadow athwart the mainK
But the Founders' dream shall fleeI
Age after age has beenL
From man's changeless heart their way theyM
winL
And death be busy with all who striveN
Death with silent negativeO
-
Yea and NayM
Each hath his sayM
But God He keeps the middle wayM
None was byP
When He spread the skyP
Wisdom is vain and prophecyI
