To Vittoria Colonna. (sonnet Vi.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDCD

When the prime mover of my many sighsA
Heaven took through death from out her earthly placeB
Nature that never made so fair a faceB
Remained ashamed and tears were in all eyesA
O fate unheeding my impassioned criesA
O hopes fallacious O thou spirit of graceB
Where art thou now Earth holds in its embraceB
Thy lovely limbs thy holy thoughts the skiesA
Vainly did cruel death attempt to stayC
The rumor of thy virtuous renownD
That Lethe's waters could not wash awayC
A thousand leaves since he hath stricken thee downD
Speak of thee nor to thee could Heaven conveyC
Except through death a refuge and a crownD
