The Sea Diver Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFGF HIHI JKJK HLHL MHMH NANA

My way is on the bright blue seaA
My sleep upon its rocking tideB
And many an eye has followed meA
Where billows clasp the worn seasideB
-
My plumage bears the crimson blushC
When ocean by the sun is kissedD
When fades the evening's purple flushC
My dark wing cleaves the silver mistD
-
Full many a fathom down beneathE
The bright arch of the splendid deepF
My ear has heard the sea shell breatheG
O'er living myriads in their sleepF
-
They rested by the coral throneH
And by the pearly diademI
Where the pale sea grape had o'ergrownH
The glorious dwellings made for themI
-
At night upon my storm drench'd wingJ
I poised above a helmless barkK
And soon I saw the shattered thingJ
Had passed away and left no markK
-
And when the wind and storm were doneH
a ship that had rode out the galeL
Sunk down without a signal gunH
And none was left to tell the taleL
-
I saw the pomp of day departM
The cloud resign its golden crownH
When to the ocean's beating heartM
The sailor's wasted corse went downH
-
Peace be to those whose graves are madeN
Beneath the bright and silver seaA
Peace that their relics there were laidN
With no vain pride and pageantryA
