The Galaxy Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDECDE

Torrent of light and river of the airA
Along whose bed the glimmering stars are seenB
Like gold and silver sands in some ravineB
Where mountain streams have left their channels bareA
The Spaniard sees in thee the pathway whereA
His patron saint descended in the sheenB
Of his celestial armor on sereneB
and quiet nights when all the heavens were fairA
Not this I see nor yet the ancient fableC
Of Phaeton's wild course that scorched the skiesD
Where'er the hoofs of his hot coursers trodE
But the white drift of worlds o'er chasms of sableC
The star dust that is whirled aloft and fliesD
From the invisible chariot wheels of GodE
