Good Part, That Shall Not Be Taken Away, The Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFFF AGAG FHFH AHAH IFIF HAHA FFFF

She dwells by Great Kenhawa's sideA
In valleys green and coolB
And all her hope and all her prideA
Are in the village schoolB
-
Her soul like the transparent airC
That robes the hills aboveD
Though not of earth encircles thereC
All things with arms of loveD
-
And thus she walks among her girlsE
With praise and mild rebukesF
Subduing e'en rude village churlsF
By her angelic looksF
-
She reads to them at eventideA
Of One who came to saveG
To cast the captive's chains asideA
And liberate the slaveG
-
And oft the blessed time foretellsF
When all men shall be freeH
And musical as silver bellsF
Their falling chains shall beH
-
And following her beloved LordA
In decent povertyH
She makes her life one sweet recordA
And deed of charityH
-
For she was rich and gave up allI
To break the iron bandsF
Of those who waited in her hallI
And labored in her landsF
-
Long since beyond the Southern SeaH
Their outbound sails have spedA
While she in meek humilityH
Now earns her daily breadA
-
It is their prayers which never ceaseF
That clothe her with such graceF
Their blessing is the light of peaceF
That shines upon her faceF
