Endymion Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDE FFGH IIJJ KKLM NNOO OPQRIIRR SSTT

The rising moon has hid the starsA
Her level rays like golden barsA
Lie on the landscape greenB
With shadows brown betweenB
-
And silver white the river gleamsC
As if Diana in her dreamsC
Had dropt her silver bowD
Upon the meadows lowE
-
On such a tranquil night as thisF
She woke Endymion with a kissF
When sleeping in the groveG
He dreamed not of her loveH
-
Like dian's kiss unasked unsoughtI
Love gives itself but is not boughtI
Nor voice nor sound betraysJ
Its deep impassioned gazeJ
-
It comes the beautiful the freeK
The crown of all humanityK
In silence and aloneL
To seek the elected oneM
-
It lifts the boughs whose shadows deepN
Are Life's oblivion the soul's sleepN
And kisses the closed eyesO
Of him who slumbering liesO
-
O weary hearts O slumbering eyesO
O drooping souls whose destiniesP
Are fraught with fear and painQ
Ye shall be loved againR
No one is so accursed by fateI
No one so utterly desolateI
But some heart though unknmownR
Responds unto his ownR
-
Responds as if with unseen wingsS
An angel touched its quivering stringsS
And whispers in its songT
Where hast thou stayed so longT
