Autumn Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBABCBCBC

Thou comest Autumn heralded by the rainA
With banners by great gales incessant fannedB
Brighter than brightest silks of SamarcandB
And stately oxen harnessed to thy wainA
Thou standest like imperial CharlemagneA
Upon thy bridge of gold thy royal handB
Outstretched with benedictions o'er the landB
Blessing the farms through all thy vast domainA
Thy shield is the red harvest moon suspendedB
So long beneath the heaven's o'er hanging eavesC
Thy steps are by the farmer's prayers attendedB
Like flames upon an altar shine the sheavesC
And following thee in thy ovation splendidB
Thine almoner the wind scatters the golden leavesC
