The Message Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKLK MNEN

Waking from tender sleepA
My neighbour's little childB
Put out his baby hand to meC
Looked in my face and smiledB
-
It seemed as if he cameD
Home from a happy landE
To tell me something that my heartF
Would surely understandE
-
Somewhere among bright dreamsG
A child that once was mineH
Had whispered wordless love to himI
And given him a signH
-
Comfort of kindly speechJ
And counsel of the wiseK
Have helped me less than what I readL
In those deep smiling eyesK
-
Sleep sweetly little friendM
And dream again of heavenN
With double love I kiss your handE
Your message has been givenN
