Life Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDDCEE

Let me but live my life from year to yearA
With forward face and unreluctant soulB
Not hurrying to nor turning from the goalB
Not mourning for the things that disappearA
In the dim past nor holding back in fearA
From what the future veils but with a wholeB
And happy heart that pays its tollB
To Youth and Age and travels on with cheerA
-
So let the way wind up the hill or downC
O'er rough or smooth the journey will be joyD
Still seeking what I sought when but a boyD
New friendship high adventure and a crownC
My heart will keep the courage of the questE
And hope the road's last turn will be the bestE
