Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFF GGHH

Joyful joyful we adore Thee God of glory Lord of loveA
Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee hail Thee as the sun aboveA
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness drive the dark of doubt awayB
Giver of immortal gladness fill us with the light of dayB
-
All Thy works with joy surround Thee earth and heav'n reflect Thy raysC
Stars and agnels sing around Thee center of unbroken praiseC
Field and forest vale and moutain flow'ry meadow flashing seaD
Chanting birds and flowing fountain call us to rejoice in TheeD
-
Thou art givind and forgiving ever blessing ever blestE
Wellspring of the joy of living ocean depth of happy restE
Thou our Father Christ our Brother all who live in love are ThineF
Teach us how to love each other lift us to the Joy DivineF
-
Mortals join the mighty chorus which the morning stars beganG
Father love is reigning o'er us brother love binds man to manG
Ever singing march we onward victors in the midst of strifeH
Joyful music lifts us sunward in the triumph song of lifeH
