Gratitude Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBC DEDE FGFG HIII

Do you give thanks for this or thatA
No God be thankedB
I am not gratefulC
In that cold calculating way with blessing rankedB
As one two three and four that would be hatefulC
-
I only know that every day brings good aboveD
My poor deservingE
I only feel that in the road of Life true LoveD
Is leading me along and never swervingE
-
Whatever gifts and mercies in my lot may fallF
I would not measureG
As worth a certain price in praise or great or smallF
But take and use them all with simple pleasureG
-
For when we gladly eat our daily bread we blessH
The Hand that feeds usI
And when we tread the road of Life in cheerfulnessI
Our very heart beats praise the Love that leads usI
