Lincolnshire Bomber Station Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDE FGHIJ

Across the road the homesick Romans madeA
The ground mist thickens to a milky shroudB
Through flat damp fields call sheep mourning their deadC
In cracked and timeless voices unutterably sadD
Suffering for all the world in LincolnshireE
-
And I wonder how the Romans liked it hereF
Flat fields no sun the muddy misty dawnG
And always above all the mad rain dripping downH
Rusting sword and helmet wetting the feetI
And soaking to the bone down to the very heartJ
