Twins, The Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGAGA HIHIGJGJ HKHKLMLM

In form and feature face and limbA
I grew so like my brotherB
That folks got taking me for himA
And each for one anotherB
It puzzled all our kith and kinC
It reach'd an awful pitchD
For one of us was born a twinC
Yet not a soul knew whichD
-
One day to make the matter worseE
Before our names were fix'dF
As we were being wash'd by nurseE
We got completely mix'dF
And thus you see by Fate's decreeG
Or rather nurse's whimA
My brother John got christen'd meG
And I got christen'd himA
-
This fatal likeness even dogg'dH
My footsteps when at schoolI
And I was always getting flogg'dH
For John turned out a foolI
I put this question hopelesslyG
To every one I knewJ
What would you do if you were meG
To prove that you were youJ
-
Our close resemblance turn'd the tideH
Of my domestic lifeK
For somehow my intended brideH
Became my brother's wifeK
In short year after year the sameL
Absurd mistakes went onM
And when I died the neighbors cameL
And buried brother JohnM

On a dark hill
With pines around me
