Yattendon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCCC DEDEFGFG

Among the woods and tillageA
That fringe the topmost downsB
All lonely lies the villageA
Far off from seas and townsB
Yet when her own folk slumberedC
I heard within her streetC
Murmur of men unnumberedC
And march of myriad feetC
-
For all she lies so lonelyD
Far off from towns and seasE
The village holds not onlyD
The roofs beneath her treesE
While Life is sweet and tragicF
And Death is veiled and dumbG
Hither by singer's magicF
The pilgrim world must comeG
