Epithalamium: A Marriage Poem Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBAACCADEEFD

'Twas summer when softly the breezes were blowingA
And Hudson majestic so sweetly was flowingA
The groves rang with music accents of pleasureB
And nature in rapture beat time to the measureB
When Helen and Jonas so true and so lovingA
Along the green lawn were seen arm in arm movingA
Sweet daffodils violets and roses spontaneousC
Wherever they wandered sprang up instantaneousC
The ascent the lovers at length were seen climbingA
Whose summit is grac'd by the temple of HymenD
The genius presiding no sooner perceived themE
But spreading his pinions he flew to receive themE
With kindest of greetings pronounced them well comeF
While hollidays clangor rang loud to the welkinD
