Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CBCB DBDB EBBB FBFB

Though doctors may your name discardA
And say you physicked vilelyB
I would I were as good a bardA
As you a doctor WylieB
-
How often when your skill subduedC
The fever ranging highlyB
You won a bushman's gratitudeC
Though little more Doc WylieB
-
How oft across the regions wideD
Where scrub for many a mile layB
The bushman rode as bushmen rideD
To seek your aid Doc WylieB
-
But now when bushman's wife or childE
Lies ill and suffering direlyB
He'll need to ride a weary whileB
Before he finds Doc WylieB
-
I hope where they have made your bedF
And where these verses I layB
They'll raise a board above your headF
And write your name Doc WylieB
