The Two Poets Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF AGAG

Two poets were born where the skies were fairA
To live in the land thereafterB
And one was a singer of sorrow and careA
And one was a bard of laughterB
-
With simple measure and simple wordC
The feelings of mankind voicingD
And light hearts listened and sad hearts heardC
And they went on their way rejoicingD
-
The glad rejoiced that the world was gayE
Who took no thought of the morrowF
And it ever has lightened the sad hearts wayE
To hear of another s sorrowF
-
The poets died when none were awareA
For no one could see the tokenG
That light of heart was the bard of careA
But the heart of the other was brokenG
