The Pride That Comes After Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDED AFAFGHIH AJAJKDKD

It knows it all it knows it allA
The world of groans and laughterB
It sneers of pride before a fallA
But the bitter pride comes afterB
So leave me and I ll seek you notC
So seek me and you ll find meD
But till I know your hand grip s trueE
I ll stand with hands behind meD
-
It knows it all it knows it allA
The world of lies and sorrowF
It prates of pride before a fallA
And of the humble morrowF
But shame and blame are but a nameG
Oh heart that s hurt past curingH
We ll drink to night the sinner s prideI
The pride that s most enduringH
-
They know it all they know it allA
The curs that pass the sentenceJ
They preach of pride before a fallA
And bitter black repentanceJ
So leave me when my star is setK
I ll glory that you leave meD
While one has pride to love me yetK
There s nought on earth shall grieve meD
