LET the liar call me liarA
And the robber call me thiefB
They can only fan the fireA
That is born of my beliefB
While I m speaking while I m writingC
To reform the wrongful lawsD
Well I know that I am fightingC
For the grand old CauseE
-
-
See the army of the rebelsF
Marching on for evermoreG
We are countless as the pebblesF
That are strewn along the shoreG
Agitating agitatingC
Till the Truth has sealed the fateH
Of the wrongs that I am hatingC
With the grand old HateH
-
-
Though no battle banner rustlesF
In a smoke that blurs the blueI
As when heroes poured from BrusselsF
To the field of WaterlooI
Though we do not hear the rattleJ
Of the rifles in the warsF
There is glory in the battleJ
For the grand old CauseF
-
See the army of the rebelsF
Marching on for evermoreG
We are countless as the pebblesF
That are strewn along the shoreG
Agitating agitatingC
Till the Truth has sealed the fateH
Of the wrongs that I am hatingC
With the grand old HateH
-
No I look not to the reapingC
In the dynasty of menK
For I know that I ll be sleepingC
In a slandered grave e er thenK
Till his right to man is givenL
We ll rebel and we ll rebelJ
As we would rebel in heavenL
If it proved a hellM
-
See the army of the rebelsF
Marching on for evermoreG
We are countless as the pebblesF
That are strewn along the shoreG
Agitating agitatingC
Till the Truth has sealed the fateH
Of the wrongs that I am hatingC
With the grand old HateH
-
No There s neither creed nor nationL
Where the Labour flag s unfurledN
For the Labour agitationL
Breaks the barriers of the worldN
Let the rulers fly in terrorA
With their scornful lips uncurledN
One by one the gods of errorA
From their thrones are hurledN
-
See the army of the rebelsF
Marching on for evermoreG
We are countless as the pebblesF
That are strewn along the shoreG
Agitating agitatingC
Till the Truth has sealed the fateN
Of the wrongs that I am hatingC
With the grand old HateN
