The Bonny Port Of Sydney Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABACADEFAFGDAD HICIADJD

The lovely Port of SydneyA
Lies laughing to the skyB
The bonny Port of SydneyA
Where the ships of nations lieB
You shall never see such beautyA
Though you sail the wide world o erC
As the sunny Port of SydneyA
As we see it from the ShoreD
The shades of night are fallingE
On many ports of callF
But the harbour lights of SydneyA
Are the grandest of them allF
Such a city set in jewelsG
Has ne er been seen beforeD
As the harbour lights of SydneyA
As we see them from the ShoreD
-
I must sail for gloomy LondonH
Where there are no harbour lightsI
Where no sun is seen in winterC
And there are no starry nightsI
And the bonny port of SydneyA
I may never see it moreD
But I ll always dream about itJ
As we view it from North ShoreD
