Now up and down the siding brownA
The great black crows are flyin'A
And down below the spur I knowA
Another milker's' dyin'A
The crops have withered from the groundB
The tank's clay bed is glarin'A
But from my heart no tear nor soundB

Through city cheats and neighbours' spiteD

A cruel week in dyin'A
All day upon her father's kneesE
Or on my poor breast lyin'A
