Jack Robertson Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDE FCGCHIDIHow oft in public meetings past | A |
Where sense was not and talk was loud | B |
We caught a glimpse of long white hair | C |
Upon the outskirts of the crowd | B |
And then the tide of talk ebbed back | D |
While here and there above the din | E |
A workman cried Here's old Sir Jack | D |
And made a path to let him in | E |
- | |
Now Peter sitting at the gate | F |
While crowds of souls are waiting there | C |
Perchance upon the outer fringe | G |
May catch a glimpse of silvery hair | C |
While some rough soul who went from here | H |
To that great meeting in the blue | I |
Will cry aloud Here's old Sir Jack | D |
And make a path to let him through | I |
