Not from the seas does he draw inspirationB
Not from the rivers that croon on their barsC
But a wide a world old desolationB
On a dead land alone with the starsC
-
The long hot day gone overD
And starlight come againE
And I weary roverD
Lie camped on One Tree PlainF
-
My saddle for a pillowG
I lie beneath the treeH
That softens to a willowG
In the moonlight over meH
-
I dream that I rememberD
A dim and distant dayI
Beyond yon misty timberD
In the Home world far awayI
