An' Freedom's on the wallaby | A |
Oh don't you hear 'er cooey | B |
She's just begun to boomerang | B |
She'll knock the tyrants silly | A |
She's goin' to light another fire | C |
And boil another billy | A |

Our fathers toiled for bitter bread | D |
While loafers thrived beside 'em | E |
But food to eat and clothes to wear | F |
Their native land denied 'em | E |
An' so they left their native land | G |
In spite of their devotion | H |
An' so they came or if they stole | I |
Were sent across the ocean | H |

Then Freedom couldn't stand the glare | F |
O' Royalty's regalia | J |
She left the loafers where they were | C |
An' came out to Australia | J |
But now across the mighty main | K |
The chains have come ter bind her | C |
She little thought to see again | L |
The wrongs she left behind her | C |

Our parents toil'd to make a home | M |
Hard grubbin 'twas an' clearin' | L |
They wasn't crowded much with lords | N |
When they was pioneering | B |
But now that we have made the land | G |
A garden full of promise | O |
Old Greed must crook 'is dirty hand | G |
And come ter take it from us | O |

So we must fly a rebel flag | B |
As others did before us | O |
And we must sing a rebel song | B |
And join in rebel chorus | O |
We'll make the tyrants feel the sting | B |
O' those that they would throttle | P |
They needn't say the fault is ours | Q |
If blood should stain the wattle | P |
