With dried and haggard eyes	J
In gaol for just blows stricken	F
In gaol for women s lies	J
Lie down and pace no longer	K
But bathe your eyes in tears	L
For Years of Retribution	F
That shall be seven years	M

Their lovers and believers	D
Their sweethearts sisters wives	N
Their daughters sons and mothers	D
The true friends of their lives	O
Hold up your heads and firmly	P
Look down the Crooked Seers	Q
For Years of Justifying	R
That shall be seven years	M

Exiled or driven mad	T
Sweated sneered at slandered	U
And driven to the bad	T
Take up the tools of genius	V
Freed from all paltry fears	M
For Seasons of Repayment	W

Against a ghastly skyline	C
Beneath a storm cloud torn	G
I watched you through my childhood	X
I saw the whip and spur	K
No spy s glass could detect you	Y

The youth I never dreamed of	Z

The hearing strength and vision	F

Or mad with jealous madness	P
Or for the crawler s fees	P
Fear ye my Cypher Seven	F
For seven years to run	F
The number set by Heaven	F
When Heaven s will is done	F

So ride and ride my riders	P
And ride for men and me	P
Ride close round madness yonder	A2
And blackest treachery	P
Oh ride round little children	F
That sleep through all and smile	F2
At daybreak I will lead you	Y
Now I must rest awhile	F2
