To The Herb Rosemary Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACCDEEF GAAGHHIJJI KLLKMMNOON

Sweet scented flower who art wont to bloomA
On January's front severeB
And o'er the wintry desert drearB
To waft thy waste perfumeA
Come thou shalt form my nosegay nowC
And I will bind thee round my browC
And as I twine the mournful wreathD
I'll weave a melancholy songE
And sweet the strain shall be and longE
The melody of deathF
-
Come funeral flower who lovest to dwellG
With the pale corse in lonely tombA
And throw across the desert gloomA
A sweet decaying smellG
Come press my lips and lie with meH
Beneath the lowly alder treeH
And we will sleep a pleasant sleepI
And not a care shall dare intrudeJ
To break the marble solitudeJ
So peaceful and so deepI
-
And hark the wind god as he fliesK
Moans hollow in the forest treesL
And sailing on the gusty breezeL
Mysterious music diesK
Sweet flower that requiem wild is mineM
It warns me to the lonely shrineM
The cold turf altar of the deadN
My grave shall be in yon lone spotO
Where as I lie by all forgotO
A dying fragrance thou wilt o'er my ashes shedN
