Sonnet To Henry Kirke White, On His Poems Lately Published, By Arthur Owen, Esq. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDCEFFGHH I

Hail gifted youth whose passion breathing layA
Portrays a mind attuned to noblest themesB
A mind which wrapt in Fancy's high wrought dreamsB
To nature's veriest bounds its daring wayA
Can wing what charms throughout thy pages shineC
To win with fairy thrill the melting soulD
For though along impassion'd grandeur rollD
Yet in full power simplicity is thineC
Proceed sweet bard and the heaven granted fireE
Of pity glowing in thy feeling breastF
May nought destroy may nought thy soul divestF
Of joy of rapture in the living lyreG
Thou tunest so magically but may fameH
Each passing year add honours to thy nameH
