Sonnet To April Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBAACCADD

Emblem of life see changeful April sailA
In varying vest along the shadowy skiesB
Now bidding summer's softest zephyrs riseB
Anon recalling winter's stormy galeA
And pouring from the cloud her sudden hailA
Then smiling through the tear that dims her eyesB
While Iris with her braid the welkin dyesB
Promise of sunshine not so prone to failA
So to us sojourners in life's low valeA
The smiles of fortune flatter to deceiveC
While still the fates the web of misery weaveC
So Hope exultant spreads her a euml ry sailA
And from the present gloom the soul conveysD
To distant summers and far happier daysD
