Sonnet: The Winter Traveller Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDEAFGGFHH

God help thee Traveller on thy journey farA
The wind is bitter keen the snow o'erlaysB
The hidden pits and dangerous hollow waysB
And darkness will involve thee No kind starA
To night will guide thee Traveller and the warC
Of winds and elements on thy head will breakD
And in thy agonizing ear the shriekE
Of spirits howling on their stormy carA
Will often ring appalling I portendF
A dismal night and on my wakeful bedG
Thoughts Traveller of thee will fill my headG
And him who rides where winds and waves contendF
And strives rude cradled on the seas to guideH
His lonely bark through the tempestuous tideH
