Sonnet (quick O'er The Wintry Waste Dart Fiery Shafts) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBBBCBCBDBDEE

Quick o'er the wintry waste dart fiery shaftsA
Bleak blows the blast now howls then faintly diesB
And oft upon its awful wings it waftsB
The dying wanderer's distant feeble criesB
Now when athwart the gloom gaunt Horror stalksB
And midnight hags their damned vigils holdC
The pensive poet 'mid the wild waste walksB
And ponders on the ills life's paths unfoldC
Mindless of dangers hovering round he goesB
Insensible to every outward illD
Yet oft his bosom heaves with rending throesB
And oft big tears adown his worn cheeks trillD
Ah 'tis the anguish of a mental soreE
Which gnaws his heart and bids him hope no moreE
