Sonnet On Hearing The Sounds Of An æolian Harp Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDDCEF

So ravishingly soft upon the tideA
Of the infuriate gust it did careerB
It might have soothed its rugged charioteerB
And sunk him to a zephyr then it diedA
Melting in melody and I descriedA
Borne to some wizard stream the form appearB
Of Druid sage who on the far off earB
Pour'd his lone song to which the surge repliedA
Or thought I heard the hapless pilgrim's knellC
Lost in some wild enchanted forest's boundsD
By unseen beings sung or are these soundsD
Such as 'tis said at night are known to swellC
By startled shepherd on the lonely heathE
Keeping his night watch sad portending deathF
