Sonnet In Memory Of Henry Kirke White, By J. G. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACBADEDEFF

'Tis now the dead of night and I will goA
To where the brook soft murmuring glides alongB
In the still wood yet does the plaintive songB
Of Philomela through the welkin flowA
And while pale Cynthia carelessly doth throwA
Her dewy beams the verdant boughs amongC
Will sit beneath some spreading oak tree strongB
And intermingle with the streams my woeA
Hush'd in deep silence every gentle breezeD
No mortal breath disturbs the awful gloomE
Cold chilling dewdrops trickle down the treesD
And every flower withholds its rich perfumeE
'Tis sorrow leads me to that sacred groundF
Where Henry moulders in a sleep profoundF
