Ode On The Late H. Kirke White, By Juvenis Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBC DEDED FGFGF HIHIH JAJKJ L

And is the minstrel's voyage o'erA
And is the star of genius fledB
And will his magic harp no moreC
Mute in the mansions of the deadB
Its strains seraphic pourC
-
A pilgrim in this world of woeD
Condemn'd alas awhile to strayE
Where bristly thorns where briers growD
He bade to cheer the gloomy wayE
Its heavenly music flowD
-
And oft he bade by fame inspiredF
Its wild notes seek the ethereal plainG
Till angels by its music firedF
Have listening caught the ecstatic strainG
Have wonder'd and admiredF
-
But now secure on happier shoresH
With choirs of sainted souls he singsI
His harp the Omnipotent adoresH
And from its sweet its silver stringsI
Celestial music poursH
-
And though on earth no more he'll weaveJ
The lay that's fraught with magic fireA
Yet oft shall Fancy hear at eveJ
His now exalted heavenly lyreK
In sounds AElig olian grieveJ
