Fragment (loud Rage The Winds Without.'the Wintry Cloud) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGGHHAAII JJKKLLIICCMN

Loud rage the winds without The wintry cloudA
O'er the cold northstar casts her flitting shroudA
And Silence pausing in some snow clad daleB
Starts as she hears by fits the shrieking galeB
Where now shut out from every still retreatC
Her pine clad summit and her woodland seatC
Shall Meditation in her saddest moodD
Retire o'er all her pensive stores to broodD
Shivering and blue the peasant eyes askanceE
The drifted fleeces that around him danceE
And hurries on his half averted formF
Stemming the fury of the sidelong stormF
Him soon shall greet his snow topp'd cot of thatchG
Soon shall his numb'd hand tremble on the latchG
Soon from his chimney's nook the cheerful flameH
Diffuse a genial warmth throughout his frameH
Round the light fire while roars the north wind loudA
What merry groups of vacant faces crowdA
These hail his coming these his meal prepareI
And boast in all that cot no lurking careI
-
What though the social circle be deniedJ
Even Sadness brightens at her own firesideJ
Loves with fix'd eye to watch the fluttering blazeK
While musing Memory dwells on former daysK
Or Hope bless'd spirit smiles and still forgivenL
Forgets the passport while she points to HeavenL
Then heap the fire shut out the biting airI
And from its station wheel the easy chairI
Thus fenced and warm in silent fit 'tis sweetC
To hear without the bitter tempest beatC
All all alone to sit and muse and sighM
The pensive tenant of obscurityN
