Amore Altiero Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCB DECFGF HBHBCB IHIHJH BBBBAB

Since thou and I have wandered from the highwayA
And found with hearts rebornB
This swift and unimaginable bywayA
Unto the hills of mornB
Shall not our love disdain the unworthy usesC
Of the old time outwornB
-
I'll not entreat thy half unwilling gracesD
With humbly folded palmsE
Nor seek to shake thy proud defended placesC
With noise of vague alarmsF
Nor ask against my fortune's grim pursuingG
The refuge of thy armsF
-
Thou'lt not withhold for pleasure vain and cruelH
That which has long been mineB
Nor overheap with briefly burning fuelH
A fire of flame divineB
Nor yield the key for life's profaner voicesC
To brawl within the shrineB
-
-
But thou shalt tell me of thy queenly pleasureI
All that I must fulfilH
And I'll receive from out my royal treasureI
What golden gifts I willH
So that two realms supreme and undisputedJ
Shall be one kingdom stillH
-
And our high hearts shall praise the beauty hiddenB
In starry minded scornB
By the same Lord who hath His servants biddenB
To seek with eyes new bornB
This swift and unimaginable bywayA
Unto the hills of mornB
