Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDD EFGF HIIJJ KLLMM

'Tis finished 'tis endedA
The dread and awful task is doneB
Tho' wounded and bleedingC
'tis ours to sing the vict'ry wonB
Our nation is ransom'd our enemies are overthrownD
And now now commoners the brightest era ever knownD
-
Then sing hallelujah sing hallelujahE
Glory be to God on highF
For the old flag with the high white flagG
is hanging in the azure skyF
-
Ye joy bells ye peace bellsH
Oh never never music rangI
So sweetly so grandly since angels in the advent sangI
Your message is gladness to myriads of waiting soulsJ
As onward and world ward the happy happy echo rollsJ
-
Come patriots come freedomK
Come join your every heart and voiceL
We've wept with the weeping now let us wish the blest rejoiceL
With armies of victors who round about the white throne standM
With Lincoln the Martyr and Liberator of his landM
