Come Back To The Farm! Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDDED DBFB GHIHJKLK MNONPBQB

Brother come back come backA
Dear brother what can be the charmB
That holds you so strong that keeps you so longC
Away from your father's able farmB
Poor Father he tells how he needs youD
And would it be more than is dueD
His labors to share his burdens to bearE
Who once bore your burdens for youD
-
'Tis the voice of your sister she calls youD
In tones both of love and alarmB
By dead mother's prayers by father's gray hairsF
Dear brother come back to the farmB
-
Father tho' years agoG
The ablest and strongest of menH
Is failing at last you know he has pastI
The milestone of three score and tenH
He's feeble he's trembling he's lonelyJ
Who once was so fearless and braveK
Yet you are away while day after dayL
He totters on down to the graveK
-
Come from the wide wide worldM
Where dangers and perile aboundN
Oh how can you roam so far from your homeO
Where safety and comfort are foundN
Come bring us the light of your presenceP
Come give us the strength of your armB
That we may once more see joy as of yoreQ
Sit smiling upon the old farmB
