The Parasol Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAABCC DEDDEFF DGDDGAA

You are the loveliest parasolA
I ever saw and all my ownB
What frilly frills I feel as tallA
As mother now Here take my dollA
Dolls are for children ladies grownB
Have parasols and fans and ringsC
And all those pretty shiny thingsC
-
Nurse calls you sunshade but I thinkD
That is too plain a word for seeE
You are so satiny and pinkD
And there is such a curly kinkD
Here in your handle there could beE
No name too fine I love you soF
I'll take you everywhere I goF
-
Next Sunday when to church I walkD
Above my head I'll hold you highG
Oh how the other girls will talkD
And maybe some of them will mockD
How proud she feels as I pass byG
I'd hold you up straight down the aisleA
If only people wouldn't smileA
