Unto One Who Lies At Rest Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAA BCBCDEDEFGFGHIHIJKJK LMLM AAA

Unto one who lies at restA
'Neath the sunset in the WestA
Clover blossoms on her breastA
-
Lover of each gracious thingB
Which makes glad the summer tideC
From the daisies clusteringB
And the violets purple eyedC
To those shy and hidden bloomsD
Which in forest coverts stayE
Sending wandering perfumesD
Out as guide to show the wayE
All she knew to all was kindF
None so humble or so smallG
That she did not seek and findF
Silent friendship from them allG
Moss cups tiarella leavesH
Dappld like the adder's skinI
Fungus huts with ivory eavesH
Which the fairies harbor inI
Regiments of fronded fernsJ
Golden rod and asters frailK
Every flaming leaf that burnsJ
Red against the autumn paleK
Every pink cupped wayside roseL
All to her were dear and knownM
But above them all she choseL
Clover blossoms for her ownM
-
So they laid her to her restA
In the sun warmed bounteous WestA
Clover blossoms on her breastA
