The Gospel Of Mystery Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAAB CDCCD EFEEF GHGGI EJEEK HLIIL MNMMN ABAAB

Good tidings every dayA
God's messengers ride fastB
We do not hear one half they sayA
There is such noise on the highwayA
Where we must wait while they ride pastB
-
Their banners blaze and shineC
With Jesus Christ's dear nameD
And story how by God's designC
He saves us in His love divineC
And lifts us from our sin and shameD
-
Their music fills the airE
Their songs sing all of HeavenF
Their ringing trumpet peals declareE
What crowns to souls who fight and dareE
And win shall presently be givenF
-
Their hands throw treasures roundG
Among the multitudeH
No pause no choice no count no boundG
No questioning how men are foundG
If they be evil or be goodI
-
But all the banners bearE
Some words we cannot readJ
And mystic echoes in the airE
Which borrow from the songs no shareE
In sweetness all the songs exceedK
-
And of the multitudeH
No man but in his handL
Holds some great gift misunderstoodI
Some treasure for whose use or goodI
His ignorance sees no demandL
-
These are the tokens lentM
By immortalityN
Birth marks of our divine descentM
Sureties of ultimate intentM
God's Gospel of EternityN
-
Good tidings every dayA
The messengers ride fastB
Thanks be to God for all they sayA
There is such noise on the highwayA
Let us keep still while they ride pastB
