Opportunity Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACDDAEFEEGF| I do not know if climbing some steep hill | A |
| Through fragrant wooded pass this glimpse I bought | B |
| Or whether in some mid day I was caught | B |
| To upper air where visions of God s will | A |
| In pictures to our quickened sense fulfil | A |
| His word But this I saw | C |
| A path I sought | D |
| Through wall of rock No human fingers wrought | D |
| The golden gates which opened sudden still | A |
| And wide My fear was hushed by my delight | E |
| Surpassing fair the lands my path lay plain | F |
| Alas so spell bound feasting on the sight | E |
| I paused that I but reached the threshold bright | E |
| When swinging swift the golden gates again | G |
| Were rocky wall by which I wept in vain | F |
