Spun all thy shining thread of vine | E |
Netting the fields in bond as thine | E |
I see thy tendrils drink by sips | F |
From grass and clover's smiling lips | F |
I hear thy roots dig down for wells | G |
Tapping the meadow's hidden cells | G |
Whole generations of green things | H |
Descended from long lines of springs | H |
I see make room for thee to bide | I |
A quiet comrade by their side | I |
I see the creeping peoples go | J |
Mysterious journeys to and fro | J |
Treading to right and left of thee | K |
Doing thee homage wonderingly | L |
I see the wild bees as they fare | M |
Thy cups of honey drink but spare | M |
I mark thee bathe and bathe again | N |
In sweet unclaendared spring rain | O |
I watch how all May has of sun | P |
Makes haste to have thy ripeness done | P |
While all her nights let dews escape | Q |
To set and cool thy perfect shape | Q |
Ah fruit of fruits no more I pause | A |
To dream and seek thy hidden laws | A |
I stretch my hand and dare to taste | R |
In instant of delicious waste | R |
