Freedom Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACBBADDCECE

What freeman knoweth freedom Never heA
Whose father's father through long lives have reignedB
O'er kingdoms which mere heritage attainedB
Though from his youth to age he roam as freeA
As winds he dreams not freedom's ecstacyC
But he whose birth was in a nation chainedB
For centuries where every breath was drainedB
From breasts of slaves which knew not there could beA
Such thing as freedom he beholds the lightD
Burst dazzling though the glory blind his sightD
He knows the joy Fools laugh because he reelsC
And weilds confusedly his infant willE
The wise man watching with a heart that feelsC
Says Cure for freedom's harms is freedom stillE
