A Calendar Of Sonnets: June Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDECDDO month whose promise and fulfilment blend | A |
And burst in one it seems the earth can store | B |
In all her roomy house no treasure more | B |
Of all her wealth no farthing have to spend | A |
On fruit when once this stintless flowering end | A |
And yet no tiniest flower shall fall before | B |
It hath made ready at its hidden core | B |
Its tithe of seed which we may count and tend | A |
Till harvest Joy of blossomed love for thee | C |
Seems it no fairer thing can yet have birth | D |
No room is left for deeper ecstacy | E |
Watch well if seeds grow strong to scatter free | C |
Germs for thy future summers on the earth | D |
A joy which is but joy soon comes to dearth | D |
