A Calendar Of Sonnets: January Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDEEDDE

O Winter frozen pulse and heart of fireA
What loss is theirs who from thy kingdom turnB
Dismayed and think thy snow a sculptured urnB
Of death Far sooner in midsummer tireA
The streams than under ice June could not hireA
Her roses to forego the strength they learnB
In sleeping on thy breast No fires can burnB
The bridges thou dost lay where men desireA
In vain to buildC
O Heart when Love's sun goesD
To northward and the sounds of singing ceaseE
Keep warm by inner fires and rest in peaceE
Sleep on content as sleeps the patient roseD
Walk boldly on the white untrodden snowsD
The winter is the winter's own releaseE
